What is NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime?
NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime is India's government-backed AI and digital skills platform, jointly run by NASSCOM (National Association of Software and Service Companies) and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY). It offers free AI certifications specifically designed for Indian IT professionals and students, with industry partners including Microsoft, IBM, AWS, and 10 major tech companies.
Why It Matters in India
NASSCOM represents 3,000+ Indian IT companies — making FutureSkills certificates directly recognized by the companies that hire the most Indian tech professionals:
- Completely free for Indian students and job-seekers (subsidized by government)
- Recognized by TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, and all NASSCOM member companies
- Infosys uses FutureSkills Foundation courses in its Lex platform for onboarding freshers
- Some companies offer internal promotions based on FutureSkills course completions
- Courses co-developed with Microsoft, IBM, and AWS — directly aligned with industry needs
NASSCOM FutureSkills Prime is one of the most overlooked free AI learning platforms in India. It is a government-backed initiative by NASSCOM and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, offering free AI and digital skills certifications that are specifically recognized by the Indian IT industry.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can working professionals access NASSCOM FutureSkills for free? Employed professionals fall in the subsidized tier (₹500-2,000/course). However, many Indian IT companies have corporate accounts with NASSCOM FutureSkills — check with your HR or L&D team. If your company is a NASSCOM member, you may get free access through the corporate channel.
Is NASSCOM FutureSkills useful for government job applicants? Partially. NASSCOM FutureSkills is strong for IT industry roles. For central/state government roles and PSUs, NPTEL certificates (IIT-branded, AICTE-recognized) carry more weight. Combine both for maximum coverage.
How does NASSCOM FutureSkills compare to the IIT Madras NPTEL courses in depth? NPTEL courses are more rigorous and academically deep — they run for 12 weeks with weekly assignments and proctored exams. NASSCOM FutureSkills courses are more industry-oriented and practical. For academic depth, NPTEL wins; for immediate industry applicability in Indian IT companies, NASSCOM FutureSkills is optimized.
